Overnight, a fire broke out at Buriram Agricultural and Technology College’s student dorm, causing significant harm to a bedroom and a fertilizer storage area. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. Initial findings point toward an electrical short circuit from aged and defective wiring as the likely cause.

Early this morning, the Buriram Sawang Charity Rescue Centre received a distress call regarding a fire on the college campus. They promptly dispatched a team with firefighters, volunteer rescuers, and three fire engines from Buriram Municipality. Officers from Buriram City Police Station also arrived to assess and manage the situation.

Upon arrival, responders found the student dorm ablaze, with the fire spreading toward a nearby fertilizer storage facility. Collaborative efforts between rescue workers and municipal firefighters led to extinguishing the fire in about an hour. The aftermath revealed complete destruction of one dorm room and some damage to the fertilizer storage.

Fortunately, no students were in the dorm during the incident, and there were no injuries. Assessments are ongoing to determine the extent of the damage, with a forthcoming report for authorities attributing the fire to deteriorated wiring.

A thorough investigation is set to determine the precise cause of the fire.
