If everything goes as planned, all national highways in Thailand will have four lanes (two lanes on each side) to accommodate more traffic by 2022, Highways Department director-general Sarawut Songsiwilai told the Thai-language Daily News yesterday (Nov 26, 2019).
Eighty percent of the expansion project (about 4,239 km) is now completed, with 1,000 more kilometers to be paved.
Mr. Sarawut said the Highways Department has the “1586” hotline to receive complaints from motorists about poor road conditions and other related issues.
