The Buriram Times are pleased to announce the long awaited formation of the Buriram Angling Club. A small group of gentlemen who enjoy their fishing have discussed the idea for some time and interest from so many expats in setting up an angling association has prompted them to start the club.
The well respected and much loved character John Noble, who has been around fishing in Buriram for the past 20 years and knows most of the fish (by name) and every river, lake and pond in the area has been appointed as President of the club.
The dynamic John MacDonald ( shown in feature phot) has graciously taken on the challenge of Chairman.
And mine host Jimmy Dickson (a keen fisherman in his own right) of Jimmy’s Sports Café has kindly made available the establishment to be the club house.
Initialy the idea is to meet up with fellow gentlemen that enjoy fishing to share their story’s (mine was this big and all that!) and then get down to the business of sharing information of good places to go and enjoy their sport.
As membership grows the guys are keen to organize the occasional competition and have a good day out with maybe the odd cold beer at the end of the day to discuss further stories as mentioned above.
