Phetchaburi police yesterday escorted a burglar to reenact the breaking open of a ATM machine of the Siam Commercial Bank with a gas cutter.
The burglar and his colleague, still at large, escaped with 2 million baht in cash after a 20-minute operation.
The suspect was arrested at a weekend market in Nakhon Ratchasima and confessed to be one of the two burglars breaking open the ATM machine in front of SR Spinning Co Ltd in Phetburi town on May 20.
He said while reenacting the breaking of the machine with a gas cutter that he learnt the tricks of ATM robbery from YouTube, and therefore it took him only 20 minutes to get 2 million baht cash out with no damages to the money.
He fled to Ubon Ratchathani and received his part of 800,000 baht to repay his debts from loss in tapioca planting.
The police said they know the identity of another fugitive and are hunting for him.
