Bars Can Stay Open Until 6am Un New Year’s Day

Pubs and bars nationwide will have extended operating hours until 6am on January 1st to boost tourism, according to Traisuree Traisoranakul, spokesperson for the Interior Ministry.

Additionally, Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has authorized venues in Bangkok, Chon Buri, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Ko Samui to remain open until 4am starting December 15th, instead of the current 2am closing time. Traisuree also mentioned that Anutin has directed the Interior Ministry’s units to collaborate with local authorities, including the police and security agencies, to ensure the safety of patrons at entertainment spots and maintain public order. Furthermore, strict enforcement of drunk driving laws has been instructed by the police.
