A British man and YouTube personality who became known for his daily videos about expat life in rural northern Thailand has died.

Graham Briar died on Friday night, his wife Pie confirmed in a video posted on their YouTube channel.

Graham, who had lived in Thailand for more than a decade, had recently suffered a heart attack and had undergone a triple heart bypass.

Earlier this month he posted a series of videos from his hospital bed informing the 5,000 plus subscribers to his Graham & Pie YouTube channel about his health problems.

Because he did not have medical insurance or sufficient funds to pay for treatment, Graham appealed to subscribers to help them pay for his medical costs, which was estimated between 600,000 and one million baht.

The Times published an article which stated that he was foolhardy not to have health insurance. We stand by that view but have removed the article out of respect for his family. We send our sincere condolences to all concerned.
