Buriram beat Bangkok Glass 1-0 in a game of few clear-cut chances though what there were fell to the home side. In the first-half Korrakot was inches too high with a free-kick and Diogo drew a good save from the keeper with a carefully placed shot from outside the area.
Edgar had a header easily saved before he was set=up by a delightful Diogo back-heel but oped for power when a more measured finish was required.
In the second period, Edgar had another header saved before the deadlock was finally broken in the 72nd minute.
Suchao swung over a left-wing corner which the keeper failed to deal with and the ball fell for Diogo to hit a fierce shot on the turn from eight yards which a defender headed out onto the back of the keeper’s head and into the net.
However, replays showed that the defender was standing well-behind the line, so the stroke of fortune was not needed.
Buriram then saw out the game with few alarms though Suchao again had to leave the field with a hamstring injury which appears worse than the first one.
Next game is on Wednesday February 21 when Japanese side Jeju United visit the Chang Arena, 6pm in the Champions League. Then Buriram return to league action on Sunday February 25 when they visit Chainat Hornbill, 6pm.
