The Buriram Golf Society Matchplay final took place today Tuesday the 1st of March 2016.
The very competitive match was between Rod (Landlord of Paddy’s Irish Bar and Outback Grill and also sponsor of the competition) and Keith (well known for his pies and bakery).
Rod with a creditable handicap of 8 had his work cut out against Keith, a much respected player with a handicap of 18. It is a big ask to give 10 shots away and if the higher handicapper has anything like a good day it becomes nigh-on imposible for the lower guy.
And so it proved with Keith playing well enough to leave Rod often needing a birdie to even halve a hole. Still Rod battled manfully to the end but Keith ran out a worthy winner by 4 & 2 .
The Buriram Times understands that the presentation will take place next week at the Society’s away tour in Khon Kaen when a large gathering of the Society players will be in attendance.
