Buriram moved into the FA Cup quarter-finals with victory in an entertaining game at the Leo Stadium. Both teams kept the ball well and both teams hit the woodwork. Buriram also had two goals incorrectly ruled out but the brilliant Diogo scored twice, the second a wonderful individual effort.
He was back to his imperious best and was a constant threat to the Glass defence who had to revert to foul play in a vain attempt to keep him quiet. Bastos came in for Coelho but once again was a disappointment.

Siwarak was forced into action in the 5th minute when he turned a goalbound shot over the bar. It was a smart save but one you would expect him to make. Buriram responded by taking the lead in the 11th minute.
Jakkaphan found Seul-Ki with a lovely ball wide right and the Korean crossed first-time and picked out Diogo who had the simple task of heading into the net. A well-worked goal.
Bastos had a great chance to increase the lead in the 20th minute when Jakkaphan set him up with a clear sight of goal but the Brazilian miskicked completely.
A minute later Diogo earned himself a yellow card which was entirely down to the treatment he was receiving from the Glass defence.
Siwarak then turned a free-kick over the bar before Diogo set up Jakkaphan with a great chance in the 32nd minute but his attempt did not look like troubling the goalkeeper.
Glass did have a chance to level in the 38th but a header from a corner was straight at Siwarak. Two minutes later the Buriram stopper had to get down quickly to his right to keep out another header.
Seul-Ki then got himself into trouble when he reacted badly to a challenge and he was fortunate the referee did not see the attempted kick or the yellow card would have been red.
A minute before the interval, the home side almost leveled when Siwarak fumbled a header and the rebound crashed against his near-post.

Buriram started the second-half brightly and Diogo was unlucky in the 49 the minute when he curled a right-foot shot inches wide. They then had the ball in the net when Diogo headed on for Bastos to coolly lift it over the keeper. Replays showed the official was incorrect with his offside flag.
Another great chance went begging in the 58th minute when good work by Diogo down the left saw him then set up Bastos but the finish was well-wide.
A lightning break out of defence in the 61st minute set Jakkaphan free down the right and with two waiting in the middle, he made a complete hash of his attempted pass. Buriram then had the ball in the net again five minutes later when Seul-Ki crashed in a great shot but the referee very harshly pulled up Diogo for a foul.
Coelho was introduced for Bastos in the 70th minute and five minutes later Diogo was hit in the face and the offender had already had a yellow card. Inexplicably the referee took no action, other than awarding Buriram a free-kick.
Buriram were inches away from a precious second goal in the 76th minute when Coelho showed great control on the edge of the box before turning and placing the ball past the keeper only for it to hit the post.
Jakkaphan was replaced by Supachok in the 82nd minute as Glass pushed forward looking for the equalizer. However, the Buriram defence was outstanding, showing great discipline in not giving Glass a single clear chance.
Buriram finally got their second goal in stoppage time and what a goal it was. Diogo collected the ball ten yards inside his own half down the left and raced clear with only one thing on his mind.
He advanced into the box before beating the keeper with a superb, low finish. A truly memorable goal !
The Glass fans were by now leaving the stadium in droves as Buriram deservedly marched on. Waiting for them in the FA Cup draw are Muang Thong and Bangkok United who both had big wins against lowly opposition.
