Bozidar with the goalkeeping coach.(And the League Trophy of course!)

It was widely believed in Buriram that coach Bozidar Bandovic would be leaving Thunder Castle before the start of this season. However, as often happens at Buriram, it is difficult to separate fact from fiction.

Bozidar is in fact contracted at Buriram until November 2018 so that would explain why  the announcement of a new coach has not materialised.

Having won the league title in the manner that he did, it would have been harsh had he not been given the chance to lead Buriram into the Champions League.

Perhaps it is time we provided more personal details about Bozidar. He is of Montenegro-Serbian nationality and is 48 years old.

He was a pro. footballer, mainly in his home countries before becoming a fully qualified UEFA coach.

He has been a head coach in Greece, Azerbaijan and of course Thailand. He was in charge of Buriram for 3 months in 2014 and did half a season with BEC Tero and Sisaket in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Not a sparkling cv but you can’t argue with his achievements last season. Let’s see what happens when Buriram meet the “Big Boys” .

He has the sincere best wishes of the Buriram Times and all Buriram supporters.
