  • By: Buriram Times
  • Date: 24th December 2017
  • Time to read: 3 min.
  • The following information is provided by Doc Martyn who is keen to develop interaction among the Buriram farang community. Instead of simply turning up at a bar and having a few beers or watching football, he proposes that to quote Hercule Poirot, “We use our little grey cells ” instead.

Why do Thai people prefer to Sniff Kiss (Haawm Kaem)?
    The 10,000Baht Challenge
Those farangs wishing to propose an answer to this question will be
given the opportunity to do so before the presentation starts. There will
be a 10,000Baht prize awarded to the farang who successfully explains
this dilemma. Please inform Patrick (manager of La Lom) when you
arrive if you wish to take the challenge.
    Drinks
Chang, Leo and Singha beer will cost 70Baht for a large (620ml) bottle.
    Dining
All attendees and their partners are invited to dine in the restaurant at
the conclusion of the debate. The set menu includes 7 Thai dishes for
only 350B/head. Please notify Patrick of your intention to dine.

       FISHE PRODUCTIONS
Presents a new form of entertainment for Buriram farangs.
    FI
FI or Fairly Interesting, is designed to stimulate and entertain all farang members. It is based on Stehen Fry’s English tv programme QI (Quite Interesting). In this highly successful live tv show, Stephen Fry has an “expert panel” to answer and debate the topic being discussed. FI will be slightly different.
The FI will involve a presentation by The Chair , that should be both informative and amusing. The farang audience will assume the role of the “expert panel”.Questions will be directed to the audience by The Chair and input from the floor will be encouraged.
The farang members of the audience ,en masse, will be able to ask questions and become involved in the debate. This should result in a mass debate.
The Chair will preside over the farang audience. The control and quality of the debate will be governed by The Chair. The Fairly Interesting, FI , quality of of the presentation will be assessed at the close of the evening by the farang audience.
It will be Farang Assessed ,FA. That will result in a FIFA score for The Chair. The farang audience may question all aspects of The Chair’s presentation .Any errors in detail and/or fact will be penalised by the loss of 10 FIFA points per mistake.
     Rules of the debate:-
1.There are no rules for debating.Remember the format is for entertainment only.Avoid becoming emotional if fellow debaters disagree with your point of view.
2.No mobile phones, drunken behaviour or bad language.
3.By order of our sponsor Patrick from the La Lom Restaurant :-no noisy children, fig barts or cooking fats.
FISCHE Productions encourage all member farangs to become involved in the FI process. The quality of the debate will depend on you. Ultimately, Fische Productions will encourage any willing member to take The Chair .Every farang should be able to make at least one presentation, their life story.
In addition, Fische Productions acknowledges that there is a wealth of knowledge and talent in the farang community in Buriram that can and should be shared.Diversity will foster success for this nascent entertainment.
FI will meet on the first Monday of every month at the La Lom Restaurant.Partners welcome , although they will not be eligible to debate.
