Fishermen And Elephants In Buri Ram Province To Honour King

Elephants will join the parade.

Two hundred fishermen along with forty elephants will honour the late King over two days on November 26 and 27 in Buri Ram’s Satuk district.

The event will be held on the Mun River to enable locals to pay their respects to the late King. It is planned to have candles and lights held aloft by around 20,000 mourners on either side of the river.

The King’s Cup boat race being replaced.

The annual King’s Cup boat race will be replaced by a race involving traditional fishing boats as the people wish to show their gratitude for all that the King had done for them in his lifetime.

Other celebrations and festivities have been cancelled in a show of respect.
