After being substituted against Buriram on Wednesday, Gilberto Macena was taken to hospital to have checks on a facial injury sustained in a recent game. The initial investigations following the injury revealed nothing serious but Gilberto was still experiencing severe pain.
Further x-rays revealed that he had a fractured jaw and underwent surgery the following morning. It was a complete success and we wish Gilberto a speedy return to action to help Bangkok United in their quest for a first-ever league title.
