The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in 37 provinces throughout Thailand this week, with a 60% chance of precipitation. The TMD has issued a warning for potential flash floods in the country and parts of Bangkok, urging residents to be cautious due to the increased risk caused by the accumulating rainfall.
These weather conditions are the result of low-pressure troughs impacting the northern region of Thailand and the upper part of Laos, along with a moderate southwestern monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea. The TMD has provided a 24-hour forecast, advising people from various regions about the hazards associated with heavy rainfall and flash floods.
Additionally, the northeastern region of Thailand is also at a 60% risk of thunderstorms, with the possibility of heavy rainfall in provinces such as Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom, Maha Sarakham, and Ubon Ratchathani. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 25-26°C, while maximum temperatures will be between 32-36°C. The wind speed is forecasted to be around 10-20 km/h.
