Muhammad-Ali-ap_1468665cThe Buriram Times would like to state that they are extremely sad at the passing of Muhammad Ali due to respiritory failure. He is generally accepted to have been the greatest sportsman of all-time as well as being a huge influence on politics, civil and human rights and the sport of boxing.

People far more qualified than me will be writing about his life and his boxing career in the days to come so I will not go into any great detail. Suffice it to say, he was the most talented “boxer” ever to grace the heavyweight ranks. He also showed unbelievable courage in the ring , both in his 56 wins and his 5 defeats.

Perhaps more importantly, he had the courage AND determination to stand up for civil and human rights , as well as take on the war-mongers of the 60’s. But perhaps his greatest battle was against that dreadful disease Parkinsons, which tried and failed miserably to take away his dignity. We will never see his like again. RIP Muhammad Ali.
