The story changed slightly on Sunday and joining him on the podium in second place was Sitthisak Onchawiang. It could have been three Thais on the podium had Apiwat not crashed out on the last lap at T12 whilst battling for the lead. He did however remount to finish 10th and gain valuable points for the championship.

A very large crowd on Sunday gave great vocal support for the home rider as he led followed by Takahashi way ahead of the chasing pack. This unfortunately only lasted for 4 laps when Ratthapong slid off on a fast corner to allow the Japanese rider to carry on to an easy victory.
