One Dead,One Critical As Pick-Up Ploughs Into Ten-Wheel Truck

The owner of a garage was killed after he invited a co-worker to take out a customer’s pick-up on a test run after a tune up of the engine.

The Isuzu ended up embedded in the back of a ten wheeler on the Tha Yang to Kaeng Krachan road.

Garage owner Rithichai Urathai, 27, from Tha Yang was the passenger and died at the scene.

Driver Thinkorn Khlaikaew, 29, from Sam Roi Yot was cut from the wreckage in a thirty minute operation and rushed to the local hospital in a critical condition.

There were 100 metre braking marks on the road that is in Tha Yang district of Petchaburi province.

Friend of the victim Piyathida Mekha, 35, said that Rithichai had done tune-up work on the engine of the pick-up and had gone out with Thinkorn to test it.

The truck appeared to have come out of the Amornphan building supplies depot.

The driver of the truck fled the scene.
