In an effort to steer clear of a substantial road pothole and safeguard the alloy wheels from damage, a pickup truck ended up losing control and crashing into a high-voltage electricity pole in front of a minimart in Nakhon Ratchasima. The incident, which occurred yesterday at 6:30 pm, resulted in damage to the vehicle and minor injuries sustained by the driver and two passengers.

The CCTV footage captured the moment of the pothole incident at the minimart situated in Ban Phutsa, Rang Ka Yai Subdistrict, Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The bronze-silver Toyota pickup truck with Suphanburi registration sustained extensive damage, including a detached rear alloy wheel.

The driver, a 27-year-old named Sakda (surname not disclosed), was on his way home to Buriram Province with two friends. Upon approaching the accident site, he swerved to avoid a sizeable pothole in the middle of the road. He explained that since the pickup had a low-loading design, hitting the pothole could harm the alloy wheels. This evasive maneuver led to the vehicle losing control and colliding with the electricity pole by the roadside. The police will conduct a thorough examination of the CCTV footage and the accident scene and will also take further statements from the driver to determine the precise cause of the pothole-related accident.
