A tumultuous fight erupted on a football field at a well-known college in Buriram, Thailand, yesterday. More than 20 teenagers, aged around 16-17, engaged in a brutal altercation, which was captured on video and circulated widely on social media, drawing considerable public attention.

The event occurred at a vocational college situated in Buriram province’s Stuek district. The footage depicts a group of teenagers, one wearing a football uniform, being assaulted and sustaining injuries. No weapons were apparent during the brawl.

According to preliminary investigations, the college was hosting a football competition as part of the “Youth Football Against Drugs” initiative. The competition was open to the public, allowing various youth teams to participate.

The altercation transpired after a match between The Great Land and Tung Somboon Suk Gold Shop teams. Tung Somboon Suk emerged victorious with a 1-0 score, sparking discontent among a faction of teenagers, as reported by Khao Sod. Their dissatisfaction stemmed from the belief that the winning team had an unfair advantage due to the inclusion of an exceptionally skilled player. This disagreement escalated into the violent confrontation witnessed on the field.

The initial cause of the incident appears to be related to dissatisfaction among the cheerleading team concerning the recruitment of a talented football player from another area to bolster their team’s chances of winning. Several football players sustained injuries during the brawl at the vocational college in Stuek. The exact trigger of the incident remains unclear, and further details will be provided as the situation unfolds.
