Many people like to try something different occasionally, to get away from their usual haunts. If this is you then this bar may be right up your street. Situated next to the Thada Chateau Hotel (on the way to the I-Mobile Stadium going from the Chang roundabout) the Kon-Loa-Pleng looks to be a throw-back to the American west.(Look for the wagon wheels outside)
Just about everything is made from wood, including the floor.(Ladies or gentlemen if that way inclined, high-heels not recommended !) There are three levels with short stairways to go up and down.(Beware going down after a few drinks !)
The lighting is sedate and the seats are mainly barrels . Plush elegance this bar is not but the minimal ambience gives it a charm and character of its own. Proprietor Way and his lovely wife are usually around and they will give you a warm welcome.
They both speak English and their attire is in keeping with the western theme. They serve bottles of Chang and Leo as well as the usual spirits and wines. Prices are in keeping with most of the bars in Buriram.
They do serve food but the menu is in Thai and again the dishes are reasonably priced. For the unadventurous farang, burger and chips are available. To add to the scenery, there are usually four or five very attractive young ladies who guarantee service with a smile.

When they are not too busy, they are happy to sit with you for a friendly chat. However, be warned, English is very limited for most of them, though this often leads to a few giggles.
There is no wi-fi or tv so I’m afraid customers have to rely on the dying art of conversation for their entertainment!
On the subject of entertainment, there is live music every night. At eight pm a Thai singer-guitarist plays a variety of songs, including some farang favourites. Sometimes he is joined by a friend and they are both pleasant to listen to.

At ten pm a Thai band take over and again play a wide selection of songs, including some CCR and Eagles. Any budding singers are welcome to join them on stage.
Possibly an added attraction is the opportunity to buy your very own cowboy boots !

Opening hours are 5pm to midnight so go along and give it try, it’s certainly different to the other bars in Buriram.
