Last Saturday 10 December was Constitution Day which this year was observed on Monday 12th as it is a national holiday in Thailand.
It is also the Buriram Thai- Chinese festival week when sections of the Thai community that have Chinese ancestors have their own festival and celebrations.

They took the opportunity on Monday to parade around the streets of Buriram in a most colourful and entertaining manner.
The Thai-Chinese are much respected in the city and are amongst the most prosperous and successful business people.
It was a very pleasant and happy day just like being in our own little China Town.

In fact Thailand is one of the few countries in the world that actually celebrate three New Years. The first coming up is the international January 1 2017. This is followed by, the Chinese New Year on Saturday January 28 2017, and then comes the Thai New Year in April, which includes, the water throwing festival of Songkran.

It’s no wonder we love living in Thailand
