New guns for Thai police.

The Thai police are to be issued with new guns in an attempt to level up the playing field with better armed criminals.

Thai News Agency reported that it has been almost 70 years since the last upgrade.

They have been using the familiar revolver six shooter ever since. Now they hope to look more like CSI than RTP.

They are to get a new .38 that will be much more reliable. The slick black handgun is capable of delivering 15 rapid action shots.

Spokesman Dechnarong of the national force told reporters they might have seen the weapons on CSI.

The move is part of the “Smart Police” initiative designed to drag the force into the modern era.

Improved radio communications and bullet proof jackets are other equipment that the force hopes will give them the advantage over lawbreakers.
