The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued a weather advisory today for Thailand, warning of decreasing temperatures and gusty winds, especially in the northeastern region. In the southern areas, heavy rainfall and high sea waves are anticipated, raising concerns about potential sudden floods and forest runoff.
A cold air mass from China is on its way to cover parts of North Vietnam and the South China Sea before moving into Thailand’s upper northeast region today. This shift is expected to bring temperature drops and increased winds.
Given these changes in weather, it’s essential for citizens to remain vigilant against health issues arising from these fluctuations and to be mindful of potential fire risks due to dry conditions.
The northeastern region will encounter cool mornings with robust winds. Temperatures are projected to decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, with sporadic light rain primarily in the northern part of the region. The expected lowest temperature ranges between 17 to 21 degrees Celsius, while the highest is forecasted between 31 to 34 degrees Celsius. Mountain peaks will experience cold to very cold weather, with temperatures ranging from 11 to 16 degrees Celsius. Northeastern winds are estimated to range between 15 to 30 kilometers per hour.
