Thai Widows and Expats was formed to provide services to the Thai widows of British expats. The main service was in obtaining bereavement benefits and widows pensions – a process that was almost impossible for them to undertake alone. We have been successfully obtaining these benefits for Thai widows since 2009 using our Thai wives to meet with and assist the widows in their native language.
Most expats in Thailand are older than their wives/partners and sooner or later death, like taxes, becomes certain. In most cases the Thai widow has no idea how to start the process of claiming benefits/pensions that she may be entitled to. We have helped widows obtain between 100,000 Baht and 8,000,000 baht in benefits/inheritance.
Services quickly expanded to include estate planning. Death remains a difficult subject to talk about and some people think that, by talking about death, it will accelerate their demise! We understand such fears, but it is fair to say that most of us would like to leave our affairs in a tidy state and ensure that our loved ones can continue to live their lives in financial security. Making a will is often the best way to achieve this. We go to great lengths to understand exactly what clients’ wishes are and, more importantly, ensure that these wishes can be carried out. “Keeping it simple” remains our motto.
