Thailand’s Meteorological Department has cautioned about chilly conditions, powerful winds, and frost, along with warning the southern region of heavy rainfall. In today’s announcement, they highlighted the prevalence of a high-pressure system or cold air mass covering Thailand and the southern part of the South China Sea.
This weather pattern has led to cold to extremely cold temperatures with forceful winds prevailing throughout the country. In the hilly areas of the north, temperatures are plunging to a range of 3 to 13 degrees Celsius, resulting in frost in certain areas. Similarly, the northeastern mountainous regions are encountering cold to extremely cold weather, with recorded lows between 5 and 13 degrees Celsius. Residents in these locales are urged to take precautions for their health due to the cold climate and to remain cautious about potential fires sparked by dry conditions and strong winds.
