A second-half double by Kroekrit gave Thailand a deserved victory over a FIFA ranked 80 Jordan in the final of the King’s Cup. The first-half was a cagey, tense affair with few clear chances for either side.
However Thailand upped their game after the interval and caused the Jordan defence plenty of problems, particularly down the right from where both goals stemmed.
There was certainly a touch of good fortune about the opener in the fifty-second minute. A deep right-wing cross found Kroekit at the far post and he tried a spectacular volley but missed the ball completely. However, the ball fell kindly for him to send a low shot into the far corner of the net.
Jordan pushed forward in search of an equalizer but the Thai defence stood firm and in fact looked more likely to increase their lead. This they did ten minutes from time with a beautifully crafted goal.
The ball was played down the right-flank and then inside to Adisak who stepped past a defender before pulling the ball back low across goal. Tana took out a defender by allowing the ball to run to Kroekit who finished with ease.
So it was game over and a VERY happy, enthusiastic home crowd voiced their approval.
