Of course the referendum is this weekend, on Sunday 7th over 40 Million eligible Thai voters will answer two questions on the constitution. We won’t comment on that here – but a very informative article in the UK Guardian this week “answers all questions” relating to the proposed constitution.
The FT have provided interesting figures (via TAT dat) on the healthy but slowing growth in tourism to Thailand. I think the second image of the graph is most revealing in that European arrivals excluding Russia has remained pretty much constant with a few dips 2013-2014. China has been the source of the increase in the past but with this growth dropping away. That equates to what was seen on the ground in terms of tourism in Western run business’s. Thailand’s Olympic Team of 54 competitors will be at the Olympic ceremony tonight ( local time ) in Rio, Brazil.
Buriram’s very own Wuttichai Masuk competes in the boxing in the light welterweight division. Wuttichai won the Gold medal in the 2014 Asian games. We wish him and all the other competitors a great Olympic Games. Go Thailand!
