In Buriram, a distressing incident occurred involving a camping enthusiast who was discovered deceased in his modified vehicle. The enthusiast, named Warayuth and aged 57, was found by a friend after spending a night camping on private property. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation, as the cause remains unknown.
Upon reaching the location, authorities came across a customized black Ford pickup truck with a fiberglass roof and a tent set up at the back. Warayuth was found inside the vehicle, dressed in shorts without a shirt, holding a mobile phone, and showed no signs of injury or violence. Initial assessments suggested he had passed away around four to five hours prior.
The truck was equipped with solar panels on the roof along with an additional panel outdoors. Various conveniences were discovered inside, including an electrical converter, a television, a sound system, and a water heater.
Warayuth’s friend, Awuth Khabuanram, aged 42 and the landowner, provided additional insights. Both individuals had previously worked as electricians for a power company but faced job loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Warayuth, relying on social security benefits, had embraced a nomadic lifestyle, adapting his vehicle for solo camping and travel due to a lack of family ties.
Before his passing, Warayuth had sought permission from Awuth to camp on his land, expressing a wish to immerse himself in a rural setting. Awuth consented, assuming Warayuth would continue his journey the next day. However, upon Awuth’s attempt to wake him the following morning, Warayuth was discovered already deceased and stiff.
The precise cause of Warayuth’s death remains unclear, especially considering the weather wasn’t excessively cold. Authorities have taken his body to Buriram Centre Hospital for an autopsy in order to determine the actual cause of death.
