Tropical Storm Prakha Could Hit North And Northeast Thailand

People in the North and Northeast are advised to brace for isolated heavy rain to be brought by tropical storm Pakha, according to the Thai Meteorological Department announcement issued at 5pm on Friday (Aug 25).

As of 4pm on Friday, tropical storm Pakha was over the East of the Philippines.  With a maximum sustained wind of about 35 knots, the storm was moving in the west-northwest direction at the speed of about 10 knots.

It is believed it will reach the Middle China Sea tomorrow (Aug 26).

The storm is forecast to move to upper Vietnam during Aug 27-28 and will cause isolated heavy rain in the North and Northeast of Thailand.

People are advised to beware of flash floods and closely follow the weather advisory service.
