Frost at Doi Inthanon.

Around 5,000 visitors have gathered at the peak of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain, over the last few days, as temperatures fell to 5 degrees celsius. This has resulted in a widespread covering of frost which people have flocked to see.

The lowest temperature at Doi Inthanon and Kiew Mae Pan view point this morning is 5 degree Celsius. With clear weather, the ground is frozen at Kiew Mae Pan right up to the peak between 42nd and 47th kilometres.

“The number of visitors at Doi Inthanon during this period is not less than 5,000 each day,” said the Doi Inthanon National Park chief Roong Hirunwong.
