The Thailand Meteorological Department (TMD) has predicted a further decrease in temperatures across northern Thailand, especially in mountainous areas, ranging from cool to cold. This is due to a cold air mass or high-pressure system covering the northeastern region and the South China Sea, along with westerly winds at higher elevations in the north. Mornings in the northern region will experience cooler weather, with temperatures dropping by 1-2 degrees Celsius. The northeastern, central, eastern, and upper southern regions will also have cool mornings.
In the northern mountain peaks, the weather will vary from cold to very cold, with temperatures ranging between 6-11 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the northeast’s peaks will experience cool to cold weather, with temperatures between 11-16 degrees Celsius. The public has been advised to take care of their health as the cool mornings persist.
The northeastern region will see cool mornings and a slight rise in temperatures later on, with lows of 16-21 degrees Celsius and highs of 31-34 degrees Celsius. In mountainous areas, temperatures will range from cool to cold, with lows between 11-16 degrees Celsius. Expect northeasterly winds blowing at speeds of 10-20 km/hr.
