Online drugs ring smashed.

A teenage girl was arrested and some drugs seized after troops and 191 emergency police raided a townhouse in Pathum Thani province early Thursday.

The search of the house was conducted at 2am in Moo 17 village in Tambon Bueng Khamproy, Lam Lukka district after authorities suspected the place was being used to sell drugs online.

A 19 year-old girl was arrested and 2,800 methamphetamine pills and 50 grams of crystal meth or “ice” as well as three bags of krathom leaves were seized.

Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal, commander of the Patrol and Special Operation Division (191) who led the raid, said police had learned that the gang had been selling the drugs via the Line application and Facebook page. The gang sold crayfish as a front activity, he added.

On Wednesday alone, the gang allegedly mailed 28 parcels, which police checked and found contained drugs.

Surachet said 191 police sought help from local police to plan the arrest but the gang members seemed to get scent of the impending raid and fled so the girl was the only one arrested.

She said she was paid Bt5,000 a week to write addresses on the parcels. She said there were five others who lived in the house but they had fled.

The authorities have busted several gangs for selling drugs online in recent times.

Last month, the authorities arrested six persons for selling marijuana, meth, and “ice” online.

Earlier this week, 191 police arrested two men and seized 36kg of marijuana after they had been allegedly selling the drug online.
