A pack of four dogs in Udon Thani, a province in Thailand’s northeast, successfully surrounded and kept a large snake from entering their owner’s house. This event generated a lot of interest in the local lottery, as people started favoring the house number associated with the incident in hopes of good luck.
On Tuesday at 5pm, the Udon Thani Volunteer Rescue Foundation received a report about a nearly 2-meter-long snake attempting to enter a house located at 136/19 Rim Suan in the main city district. The foundation’s team arrived at the five-acre property and met the owner, Yuthirong Khoonrajchit, a 61-year-old man who guided them to the scene. As they approached the snake, they discovered that four Thai dogs named Ai Chi (white), Ai Ju, Ai Kam Khoon (three-legged), and Ai Long had already surrounded the snake and were aggressively barking at it.
The officials used a metal hook to capture the snake, but had to repeat the process as the snake tried to escape. Finally, they placed it in a bag and released it back into the wild. Yuthirong explained that the property used to be a music school where he used to teach until it closed down after his wife’s passing. Currently, he lives there with his three children.
On the day of the incident, he heard the dogs barking and found the snake on the road. Yuthirong shared his thoughts, saying… “I’m usually not someone who buys lottery tickets or believes in luck, as I’ve never been fortunate in that aspect. However, today, a snake entered our house, and I believe it brought us good fortune.
