Thailand were beaten 4-0 by an excellent Japanese side in the second game of Group B in the AFC Under 23 Championships being held in Qatar. Having drawn their opening game 1-1 against Saudi Arabia, Thailand were totally outplayed and missed a penalty with the score at 2-0.
Thailand must now beat Korea in their final group game on January 19th and hope that Saudi Arabia fail to beat Japan, to go through to the knock-out stage. Buriram United’s Narubadin and and Chaowat are in the Thai squad.
