The Major Cineplex Movie Theater in Khon Kaen underwent an official check by the Mueang Khon Kaen police on November 30 at 4:30 pm. This check aimed to anticipate any clashes among college students potentially triggered by the screening of 4 Kings II.
During the inspection, police officers advised the theater manager on precautionary measures against potential conflicts arising from the movie. They also offered guidance to the young audience to prevent any hazardous situations.
The movie 4 Kings II depicts violent scenes involving Thai technical college students using weapons in confrontations with rival groups. This caused concern due to previous instances of fights among technical college students after watching the prequel, 4 Kings, in 2021.
Police Colonel Preecha Kengsarikit, the chief of Mueang Khon Kaen station, openly expressed concerns about teenagers getting overly excited and potentially imitating the violent acts in the film. Patrol officers were instructed to conduct similar inspections in two other Mueang Khon Kaen movie theaters.
Col. Preecha warned the young viewers to be cautious and avoid replicating the violent scenes, emphasizing the potential harm to both themselves and their families. He firmly stated that any engagement in unlawful behavior would result in police intervention.
The impact of the movie screening was felt in Bangkok too, where local police were stationed outside malls screening 4 Kings II to maintain security.
