The “Buriram Times” would like to thank Barry for his assistance last weekend at the WorldSBK meeting at the Chang International Circuit.
Barry lives in Bangkok and works on a freelance basis for the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Thailand (FMSCT) which is Thailand’s affiliate member of the FIM, which is the governing body for world motorcycle racing. Each country involved in the sport has this type of membership.
Quote: “I have been working with the FMSCT since moving to Thailand five years ago and am a FIM licensed Clerk of the Course and work as FIM Jury President for the 13-round Thailand Superbike Series and sit as the national jury member for international events like World Superbike and the Asia Road Racing Championship, which hold two rounds per year at CIC. It is unusual for national officials like me to cover overseas events, though I did represent Thailand at the FIM-Asia General Assembly in January”.
The job of the FIM Jury is to oversee the running of the event in accordance with the Safety, Technical, Medical and Sporting Codes, to hear appeals and protests and generally act as a supervising arbitrator.
