“Blossoming lotuses attract numerous visitors to Nong Han Lake Residents and tourists will soon congregate at Nong Han Lake, also referred to as Red Lotus Lake, situated in Udon Thani province. This lake, located in Kumphawapee district, is renowned for the breathtaking display of red lotus blossoms that grace its waters every December and January. Combined with the refreshing climate of the northeastern plateau, this destination becomes a magnet for tourists seeking relief from the city’s heat.

Local inhabitants also offer boat rides for those eager to appreciate the picturesque landscape and capture up-close photographs of the lotuses. Nong Han Lake is also celebrated as an outstanding site for birdwatching.

Aside from the profusion of flowers, CNN ranks Red Lotus Lake as the world’s second most unusual lake. Covering a vast area of 600 square acres, it sustains the livelihood of more than 60 neighboring villages. The lake is continuously replenished by water from six distinct streams, ensuring it remains full throughout the entire year.”
