Troy Bayliss, the Australian three times winner of the world SBK championship will make a return to the racing track at Chang International Circuit in the second round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship.
With an outstanding record of three World Superbike Championships (2001, 2006 and 2008), one British Superbike Championship (1999), and 52 individual World Superbike victories, the antipodean is a true legend.
Only one man has secured more Championships and more victories in the series’ history. That is the utterly exceptional Carl Fogarty. Carl achieved four Championship wins and an amazing 59 individual race wins.
Bayliss will be substituting for injured Ducati rider, Davide Giugliano, who was injured in the practice sessions of round one.
Joining Troy on the track will be his Ducati team mate and one of the Super Brits, Chaz Davies who is now lying in third place after round one.

Due to Davide Giugliano’s injury in the practice session of round one, the Australian had to substitute on that occasion also. As Davide has not yet recovered, Troy returns to the track once more for another great opportunity.
Managing only 17th in round one, the three time WorldSBK champ feels that with more preparation time available on this occasion he can do much better in Buriram.
Legend Troy Bayliss

The Australian legend said, “I’m really excited to be able to ride the Panigale R again and I thank the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Superbike Team for the opportunity. It will be great to work with the team again. Compared to the Phillip Island round, organised pretty much at the last minute, this time I’ve had the chance to train and prepare myself properly. I’m really motivated and feeling ready; I can’t wait to get back on track!”
Making this story a little bit more special is that the ex-champion, as somewhat of a veteran, will be turning 46 years old on the 30th of March. This is just eight days after the Buriram race.
Perhaps an early birthday present may be on the cards for Troy.
