A tragic motorcycle crash in the darkness resulted in the untimely death of a 25-year-old man from Udon Thani province.

The incident took place close to a concrete factory on the Na Kha-Sum Sao Road, situated in the expansive Thon district of Na Kha. Police Lieutenant Colonel Ratchapol Morarat from the Na Kha Police Station responded to the scene.

At the site of the motorcycle collision, the lifeless body of Kritsada (surname withheld), the 25-year-old, was found in the middle of the road, having sustained severe head and neck injuries. Nearby lay a new orange Honda Wave-I motorcycle without a license plate, significantly damaged. Additionally, a black and white Honda Wave motorcycle with the license plate 2 KAN 1501 Udon Thani was toppled over, near a seriously injured couple from the Phen district in Udon Thani. Both individuals suffered from broken left legs. Scattered close by were plates of pad see ew, a popular Thai dish. The injured couple was swiftly taken to Udon Thani Centre Hospital for urgent medical attention.

According to preliminary investigations, Vissanu, the 36-year-old manager of the concrete factory, mentioned that the injured couple were employees who also lived at the factory. Prior to the accident, they were returning from a meal at a residence approximately 5 kilometers away.

Around 6:46 pm, while they were slowing down to make a right turn into the factory, Kritsada, riding at high speed on his motorcycle, collided with them.

The heartbreaking incident was witnessed by Kritsada’s 29-year-old brother, Tinkorn, who, visibly grief-stricken, held his younger brother’s hand, expressing disbelief at the sudden loss. Tinkorn disclosed that Kritsada had been working at an ice factory and was on his way back after buying skin cream for him when the accident occurred. He was informed about his brother’s accident by a villager but never anticipated its fatal consequences.

Authorities suspect that Kritsada’s excessive speed on the poorly lit road led to the fatal crash. They intend to interview witnesses and analyze CCTV footage for a clearer understanding of the sequence of events.

Meanwhile, Kritsada’s body was transported to the forensic department of Udon Thani Centre Hospital, awaiting his relatives for the final rites in accordance with their traditions.
