The Department of Health has taken action by immediately stopping production at a bottled water factory in Roi Et province. This decision comes after a disturbing video surfaced, revealing manual filling of water into bottles. Despite being a licensed water production facility, the factory failed to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards during an inspection.

Collaborating with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), health authorities identified this licensed plant, operating under the Food Act, as not compliant with GMP standards. Subsequent inspections by Roi Et health officials confirmed the factory’s non-compliance with GMP criteria, leading to the suspension of production until the necessary improvements are implemented. The responsible individuals were notified to meet legal requirements promptly.

The Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health acknowledged the public’s role in flagging the issue, stressing the significance of clean drinking water for public health. They advised consumers to check bottled water for packaging cleanliness, cap tightness, the presence of a valid Food and Drug Administration number, and intact sealing for larger tanks. Additionally, they urged people to opt for water from reputable sources and encouraged reporting any suspicious water production practices to local health authorities.

This incident originated from a video showing improper manual filling of bottles, prompting an investigation that unveiled the factory’s failure to comply with GMP standards. The Department of Health extended gratitude to the public for highlighting the issue and reiterated the importance of ensuring clean drinking water.
