Buriram let a two-goal lead slip against an enterprising Osotspa side in a fast, open match which could have gone either way. Buriram will be rueing missed chances with Weslley being the main culprit. With a clinical striker, Buriram would have won at a canter and there are still six games to go before they can welcome back Diogo.

Alexandre Gama reverted to a back four with Nattapon coming in to partner Tunez and again Buriram looked much more solid against a very lively, pacey Osotspa attack. Supachok kept his place in midfield with Surat coming in to replace the departing Theerathon.

It was a much better performance from Buriram and they moved the ball about quickly and created more than enough chances to win the game. However, a defensive howler let the home side back into the game and they levelled in the second-half with an excellent individual effort.

In a lively opening , Seul-Ki fired over the bar following a good move down the right in the seventh minute before Siwarak made a great save from a thirty-yard shot a minute later.

Buriram took the lead after twelve minutes from the penalty spot when Yong was brought down in the left corner of the area  and Tunez did the necessary as his perfectly-placed shot hit the inside of the post before entering the net.

Three minutes later Weslley charged into the left-side of the area but tried to beat the keeper at the near-post from an impossible angle with well-placed teammates waiting in the middle. Osotspa had the ball in the net in the twenty-first minute but a very tight offside call rescued Buriram.

They took full advantage by increasing their lead five minutes later with a stunning strike by Supachok . The youngster collected the ball on the edge of the area before placing a perfect shot into the top right-hand corner of the net . It was a goal of genuine class and an excellent example of the skill he possesses.

It should have been three a minute later when Weslley was put clean through on goal but he fired over the top. On the half-hour mark, Buriram gifted the home side a way back into the game when  Seul-Ki attempted a suicidal header back towards his own goal which put Komenan through and he beat Siwarak with a shot which the keeper should have done more than get a hand to.

Buriram were unfortunate not to be awarded another penalty in the fortieth minute when Weslley was brought down only to be incorrectly flagged offside.

So at half-time the game was in the balance but Buriram should really have been home and dry but wastefulness in front of goal could well come back to haunt them.

Buriram had a good chance five minutes into the half following an excellent move down the right which resulted in a corner. Suchao’s cross was met by Weslley but once again the ball flew over the bar. Buriram then brought on Adul for Surat who was not looking totally secure.

In the fifty-seventh minute Suchao had a glorious chance when he found himself completely unmarked ten yards out be he fired inches wide. A minute later Weslley was set free in the left side of the box but again his shot was way too high.

Then Supachok had a good chance in the sixty-second minute but he dragged his low shot wide. Osotspa then made Buriram pay for those missed chances two minutes later. A long ball from the left found Sadney in space wide right. There seemed little danger but the striker cut inside before curling a beautiful left-foot shot from the edge of the box into the top left-hand corner, leaving Siwarak with no chance.

Buriram then replaced Supachok with Sittichok who received a yellow card for a foul, seconds after coming on. However, in the seventy-third minute following a great break out of defence , Sittichok played Weslley in but in a one-on-0ne with the keeper the striker’s shot lacked conviction , resulting in a save.

Weslley was then replaced by Anan and neither side managed to create any more chances, leaving the score tied at 2-2. At least Buriram created chances, enough to win two games, but they can’t afford to carry on spurning them or they are going to find themselves cast adrift of the sides at the top.

Next Buriram face Army United at home on Saturday May 14, kick- off  6pm.
