Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn is to be confirmed as the next king of Thailand on 1 December, senior sources have told news agencies. ( Reuters and BBC).
Once confirmed, he is expected to start undertaking Royal duties, including appointing Royal officials and endorsing the constitution.
The government has declared a year-long official mourning period after the death of His Majesty the late King. The widely revered king had served 70 years as head of state, and was seen as a stabilising figure, promoting social harmony and development in Thailand.
Entertainment, TV to Resume 14th November.
In an official government statement it was confirmed that entertainment and normal TV programming can resume from Nov 14. This comes after a month of national mourning for His Majesty the late King, the government announced yesterday.
Still it was clear from the announcement that entertainment and TV shows still need to show a certain amount of respect and consideration. There should be nothing that could be interpreted as “uproarious or wild”.
The co-operation of TV Channels and Entertainment venues is expected.
