In Mukdahan province, a major drug trafficking gang was busted by Region 4 Police, seizing an astounding stash of over 600,000 methamphetamine pills on December 10. Acting on intel, law enforcement intercepted a white Mitsubishi Attrage sedan heading from Don Tan district to Mueang Mukdahan district. Behind the wheel was Daeng, 30, a local, accompanied by 27-year-old Itthipon. A thorough search uncovered not only the two occupants but also three bags inside the car carrying the massive pill haul. Adding to the discovery, an unregistered Glock 19 handgun and 45 rounds of ammo were found hidden under the passenger seat.

Upon interrogation, both men admitted guilt, disclosing their supplier’s location in the Tha Nam sub-district of Don Tan district. The drugs were destined for customers in Khon Kaen province and other parts of the northeast.

In a parallel operation, a gray Isuzu Dmax pickup, identified as part of the drug trafficking ring, was stopped. The vehicle served as a scout for the sedan, ensuring safe passage. Inside were Kritawit, 27, and Prapatsiri, 25, who admitted involvement in the smuggling operation.

All suspects, along with the seized drugs, firearm, and ammo, were taken to Mukdahan Police Station, facing charges of conspiring to distribute narcotics and illegal firearm possession. Region 4 Police are pursuing asset forfeiture of the suspects’ property valued at 1.46 million baht. The search for the elusive supplier continues, promising further developments in this high-profile narcotics case.
