A tumultuous event unfolded at the Korat Juvenile Training Centre when 27 juvenile individuals became violent, resulting in injuries to four others.

The disturbance originated from demands to release a gang leader who had been isolated after an interrogation earlier that day. Local authorities from Pho Klang Police Station and Huak 31 Rescue Unit were summoned by officials from the Training and Youth Centre, Zone 3, Nakhon Ratchasima, who reported instances of violent behavior among a group of male youths within the center’s detention area, expressing concerns about a potential escalation.

The violence erupted between two groups of male detainees within the confinement quarters, where they engaged in a fight using sharp metal objects, leading to four injuries. The situation further deteriorated when one of the leaders was isolated by officials after the injured juveniles were rescued and taken to Teppharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital. This action triggered dissatisfaction among the gang members, prompting unrest as they demanded the release of their leader.

The chaos ensued, involving several dozen male juveniles, making it risky for authorities to intervene directly due to the potential danger. Consequently, they focused on maintaining control around the perimeter to prevent the situation from worsening.

Police intervention finally occurred in the morning when combined forces from Khlong Phai Prison, Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Police, and the Special Operations Unit, Provincial Police Region 3, intervened to suppress the unrest. By 12:30 pm, authorities had regained overall control, and all 27 instigators were detained and moved out of the Training Centre. They were temporarily held at Khlong Phai Prison in Si Khio District, Nakhon Ratchasima.

Following the incident, officials from the Training Centre and Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Police conducted a thorough search of the detention area to confiscate weapons, preventing any potential recurrence of violence.

In a related incident, a violent brawl over a woman resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others in Prachinburi province. The brawl occurred in front of a residential building where the victims were consuming alcohol. The police were able to apprehend one suspect.
