The Roi Et police, under the leadership of Police Lieutenant General Sarayut Sa-nguanphokai, intercepted two pickup trucks on October 26, loaded with an astounding 800,000 amphetamine pills during a drug bust. The individuals driving these vehicles, identified by their first names as Cherdsak (34 years old), Tanakorn (29 years old), and Pamuan (48 years old), were suspected of smuggling these illegal substances to central Thailand. According to Pol. Lt. Gen. Sarayut, these suspects were not acting independently but were part of a larger drug trafficking operation originating from a neighboring country.

The Roi Et police had been closely monitoring this operation, and when the suspect vehicles were detected in Phon Thong, Roi Et, they swiftly responded. However, the suspects didn’t surrender easily. In an attempt to escape and dispose of incriminating evidence, they began scattering the amphetamine pills along the roadside in Kamalasai, Kalasin. Despite their efforts, the police managed to apprehend the suspects and recover 830,000 pills from the scene.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Sarayut disclosed, “Our investigative officers had been tracking a drug smuggling operation from a neighboring country to central Thailand. Then, our Roi Et police officers spotted two vehicles on the suspect list traveling on the road in Phon Thong, Roi Et.”

This successful operation serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Thailand. The quick actions of the Phon Thong police not only removed a substantial quantity of amphetamines from circulation but also provided valuable leads into the broader drug smuggling operation.

“The police report stated that during the pursuit, the suspects attempted to escape and discarded evidence in a grove on the roadside in Kamalasai, Kalasin. Subsequently, the three suspects were apprehended with 830,000 amphetamine pills,” as mentioned in the police report.
